ACI Competition 2024 - Egg Protection Device

On behalf of ACTS, ACI Lebanon Chapter, and the Lebanese Concrete Society, we would like to introduce the new ACI Student Competition for 2024: "Egg Protection Device" The competition consists of designing and building the highest-impact-load-resistant plain or reinforced concrete Egg Protection Device (EPD). The objective of this competition is to learn and report on concrete’s sustainable benefits related to impact resistance and other real-life aspects that an EPD simulates. On the competition date, each team’s device will be tested by the impact test. Teams will be ranked according to the maximum energy prior to failure and the quality of their competition report. The winners will receive certificates of recognition at the Future Concrete Construction Conference in September 2024. Students with the first prize will be granted a trip to attend the ACI Fall Convention in Philadelphia, USA. Up to 3 teams from the same university, with 2 students each, can participate (students must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program).
